The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) is the 2013 update to the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) classification and diagnostic tool.  This Course outlines the changes made to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and texts in the same order in which they appear in the DSM-5 classification.  This course is based on Highlights of Changes from DSM-IV-TR to DSM-5, published by the American Psychiatric Association. This course is intended to familiarize mental health professionals, social workers, substance abuse professionals, child welfare workers, healthcare professionals, psychologists, or certified addiction specialists, with the changes made to the DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and texts.
